How to Order

We welcome you to visit our store in Rockton, Illinois- a suburb of Rockford located in the Rock River Valley.  You can also place an order from our website at any time.  If you have a particular item in mind that you can't find on our website, feel free to call us Tuesday through Friday, between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm, CDT at +1-815-957-0290.  You may also use the CHAT feature that's available on our website.  Someone will be happy to help Tuesday through Saturday between 10am and 6pm, CDT. 

Merchandise Availability 

At Taylor + Max, we proudly offer an exceptional collection of apparel and gifts sourced from independent designers and artisans from around the globe. Due to the uniqueness of our selection, many items are available in limited quantities, are custom-made, or may have a significant production lead time. Unless an item is marked with a future ship date,  it is in stock and typically ships within 48 business hours of order receipt. We strive to promptly remove items from our website once they are no longer available. For questions or concerns about the availability of a particular item, please feel free to contact us.


Colors & Variations

We strive to accurately present the colors and textures of our clothing and toys. However, the colors you see may vary depending on your phone or computer display settings. Additionally, because many of our products are handmade, there will be differences between the pictured example on our website and the artisan-created item. We kindly ask you to appreciate these variations, as they add a unique touch to your gift.


Adjustments + Pricing

We strive to ensure the accuracy of the information on our website, but errors may occasionally occur. While these mistakes are completely unintentional, we reserve the right to correct prices and other information without prior notice. Additionally, due to the exclusivity and limited availability of many of our items, we reserve the right to limit the purchase quantity of certain items per customer.

Complimentary Gift Wrapping

Gift wrapping is available (size permitting of course) and always complimentary. Our standard gift wrapping includes one (1) of three (3) gift wrapping paper options and a coordinating ribbon. In addition, we offer you the option of including a message to the gift recipient with every gift purchase. To include a message with your purchase, please be sure to include it in the Gift Message/Notes section in your shopping cart before checking out.

Not every product we sell is ideal for gift wrapping. With oversized items, we do our best to ensure the presentation upon delivery is as beautiful as we can make it. (e.g. we will tie a ribbon around the alternate packaging - or the item itself - and include a Taylor + Max tag, letting you and/or the recipient know the item was purchased from Taylor + Max).


Gift Cards

Not exactly sure of the gift recipient's favorite color, or perhaps you may not know the recipient's current size. Then choosing a gift card may be the next ideal option.  Our gift cards allow recipients to select their very own special something from our remarkable collections.

Whether your gift recipients live near our store or on the other side of the globe, we've got you covered. You can choose a Taylor + Max gift card in any denomination between $10 and $500, whether digital or physical.

Gift Card Redemption

You can use your Taylor + Max Gift Card to pay for almost any item sold either online or at our physical boutique location. To redeem your gift card, add the item(s) you would like to purchase to your Shopping Cart and proceed to Check-Out. You will be asked to enter the gift card number (found on the actual certificate itself) in the Billing section of the Check-Out process. If the cost of your order exceeds the value of your gift certificate, we will charge the credit card number you give us during the Check-Out process to pay for the balance.



When redeeming your gift card, it is important to fill in the unique gift card number exactly as it appears on your gift card. Taylor + Max reserves the right to cancel an order, reverse a credit, or charge clients at any time for any unauthorized, altered, or ineligible use of any gift card, or when any order is canceled or a credit card is declined.



Additional guidelines for gift card use are as follows:

  • Gift cards must be redeemed through
  • Gift cards are not redeemable for cash and cannot be returned for a cash refund. 
  • Gift cards are not valid as payment for prior purchases, pending orders, or additional gift cards.
  • Gift cards are not transferable and cannot be resold or auctioned.
  • We're sorry, Taylor + Max cannot replace, nor is responsible for lost or stolen Gift Cards nor any unauthorized use.
  • Any unused balance will be placed in your gift card account for future use.
  • If your order exceeds the amount of the gift card you are using, you will need to pay for the remaining balance with a valid credit card.


Sales Tax

Under regulations of the State of Illinois, applicable sales tax is automatically calculated, based on the total ordered merchandise value, shipping charges, and delivery fees, on all orders placed by residents of Illinois; Non-Illinois residents are not charged sales tax but may wish to consult applicable tax laws in their respective states.


Shipping & Delivery

We understand you want your order to arrive as quickly as possible. We provide best efforts to ship orders within 24-48 hours of receiving your order. Orders are received, processed, and shipped from our location in Rockton, IL  Tuesday through Friday from 9:00am - 6:00pm Central Daylight Time. Please note, that orders placed after 2:00pm on Friday may not ship until Tuesday. Should you request Expedited Shipping and we receive your order before noon Central Daylight Time Time, your order will ship out the same day. Also note, that some items require a longer ship time, may not be available for shipping upgrades, and/or are shipped directly from the maker.

For all oversized items, we use the best means possible to ensure your order arrives safely and promptly.

Shipping Methods

We ship most orders within the continental United States and Canada via UPS and/or the United States Postal Service (USPS). We ship most orders outside the continental United States via the United States Postal Service (USPS), DHL FedEx, or UPS. Please ensure you specify a correct, current shipping address. 


Shipping Charges

Customers with orders over $300 will enjoy complimentary standard shipping within the 48 contiguous states. For all orders under $150, we charge a flat $7.50 shipping rate within the 48 contiguous states. For expedited delivery and/or oversized items, additional fees apply. International Orders

We are happy to ship your order to almost anywhere in the world. Preparing the sender's and recipient's addresses for international shipments is very important to ensure your gift recipient receives their gift. The addressee’s full legal name (the name that corresponds to the addressee’s government-issued identification - i.e., the addressee’s first name, middle initial (if applicable), and last name) and complete address must appear legibly with Roman letters and Arabic numerals.

Orders that do not have Roman letters and Arabic numerals will be canceled

For all oversized items, we use the best means possible to ensure your order arrives safely and promptly.


Duty Charges

All duties and/or taxes are the recipient’s obligation. The recipient may be required to pay the duty or VAT upon delivery. Due to import duty valuation adjustments and currency valuations, we are unable to provide an estimate for duty or VAT. If you have any questions, please email us for additional information.



Because international orders are subject to special security checks and export regulations, we reserve the right to cancel any international order. We will contact our guest who placed the order to notify them of the cancellation, providing a viable contact email address has been given to Taylor + Max. Cancellation reasons may include: (a) Payment cannot be cleared through the card details provided and requests for further information are not answered within a reasonable time frame; (b) Insufficient delivery address details are provided and we have received no reply to our request for further information; (c) Insufficient client details or delivery details are provided; (d) Risk of a fraudulent transaction; (e) Order and order details conflict with specific U.S export regulations.


Tracking your Shipment

All customers are notified by email of their shipment confirmation and tracking number once the order has shipped. Additionally, registered customers may log in to their account to view and/or review their order information, including ship date(s) and tracking information.


Special Delivery & Handling Requirements

If a special surcharge for oversized and/or very heavy items is applicable, the cost is shown on the Item page. The amount of the charge is added to the total price of the item. These items must ship separately from the rest of your order and may arrive in the makers’ original packaging with a picture and/or description of the contents visible on the box.


Exchanges & Returns

We are very proud of the products we offer at Taylor + Max and want you to be completely happy with your purchase. If you’re not delighted with your purchase for any reason and you wish to return a standard unused item for a refund or exchange, you may ship the item back to us within fourteen (14) days of receipt for a full refund, or fourteen (14) days of receipt for exchange. Items returned must be in new, unused condition in their original packaging, with all tags attached. Please note, that special, custom, and/or made-to-order items cannot be exchanged, returned, or refunded. Please be sure to read our Exchanges & Return Policy in full before shipping your return.
