The old truck was inspired by the strong family figures in their homes and their rural Texas landscape.
Jared and Jerome's mother raised four sons while running their family business. They remember their grandmothers exuded grit and determination. Their great grandmother bought her own farm in Louisiana with the money she'd earn picking cotton.
And then there's the old pickup trucks- sitting in the pastures with overgrown trees and plants- left behind and all forgotten about.
This book was inspired by the many things old trucks would have seen over the years and the stories they would tell (if they could talk).
